Ayuervedic herbs for Diar-rhoea, Dysentery .
Bom, Hind, Mah. & Guz.----Sufed Musli; Sataver. U. P.----Khairuwa. Tarn.----Tannirvittang. Tel,----Tsallo-gadda-
Mal.----Shede-veli. Cing.----Hirtha-wariya.
Habitats----West Himalaya, Punjab, from Muiree to Kumaon, Guzerat and Central India.
Parts Used----The tuberous root or rhizome decorticated.
Constituents----Albuminous matter, inuoilage and ecellulose. Powdered root is found to contain watery extract, cellulose, moisture and ash, which is 3-6 p.c.



Action.----Nutritive, tonic and demulcent. The rhizome is bitterish in taste.
Preparations:----Confection and Powder. Uses.----Boiled in milk and sugar, it is used in sperm-atorrrhea; gleet and chronic leucorrhea; also in diar-rhoea, dysentery and general debility. It is used as a substitute for Salep. A compound powder containing many ingredients is given as a nutritive tonic in doses of from 5 to 30 grains in milk in cases of seminal weakness and impotence.
