Flowers used as astringent & refrigerant
is a European species introduced into Cashmere. In Bengal it is found with white or pink
petals or mixed, in shallow autumn flood waters. See Nymph‘ Lotus. Nymph‘ Cyanea (Eng.----East Indian blue water-lily) is found in shallow ponds especially Bengal where the flowers are used as astringent and refrigerant----(Chakravarthy). |
