The root, leaves and flowers are valuable as a lactifuge; a poultice of the bruised root or leaves or flowers unmoi.stened applied to the breasts to arrest the secreths of milk in the puerperal state in cases of threatened abscess. In China the flowers are used for scenting tea, The leaves, if boiled in oil, exude a balsam which is used for anointing the head in eye----complaints. It is said to strengthen the vision. It is also used as a remedy in cases of insanity The dried leaves soaked in water and made into a poultice are applied to indolent ulcers, |
