Cure for Gleet, Leucorrboea, Diabetes, Cholera
found in temperate Himalaya from Nepal to Murree and Cashmere. The part used in medioine of this plant is the rhizome. Its constituents are tannin 12 to 27 p. c, gallic acid, red celouring matter, starch, pectin and suŻar. It is a powerful and efficient astringent. It is given in infusion or decootion with hydrastine in chronic diarrhea and dysentery, passive haemorrhages, in relaxed condition of the mucous membranes as gonorrhoea, gleet, leucorrboea, diabetes, cholera etc Locally it is used as a gargle in
sorethroat and ulceration of the mouth, as an injection to relaxed vagina, uvula, rectum etc. |
